Ryan “Scooter” Jones made CMI Motorsports and Racing proud by winning the Grand Champion title in both the Supersport Amateur and Superstock Amateur Classes at the  Michelin U.S. Motorcycle Championship at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala., in October of 2009.

Jones, racing on his Capital Meats, Incorporated, and Jeff Atwell Racing sponsored Kawasaki ZX-6R, won both classes on Saturday and Sunday and collected $6,000 in purse and bonuses.

"I really felt great about the races, even when the rain came," Jones said. "It's been a great year and I am fortunate to have sponsors like Capital Meats and Jeff Atwell Racing who believe in me."

In Supersport on Saturday, Jones methodically passed the others for a 2.3 second win over Suzuki GSX-R600 mounted Blake Cochran. He then went on to use his aggressive style of riding to complete a .76 second win over CBR1000RR-mounted Chris Steele.

On Sunday, due to a rain-soaked track, several red flags were called, leading to a 6 lap sprint to the finish. Scooter easily captured the win with a 90 second win over Blake Cochran and Mark Miller, Jr.

Jones went on to sweep the Superstock with an impressive fourth win in the next race.

"Throughout the season, Scooter put up consistent wins and top place finishes in every class he rode," CMI Motorsports Owner Scott McMichael said. "Scooter is a very aggressive rider and we enjoyed watching him race this past year."
